A Cookie a Day

A cookie a day to fill this huge cookie jar that I call life.

Yo! I'm Robin Barlis, and this is my Project 365.

One photo per day, for the whole of 2011.

Enjoy!

Twix Frap
A Mocha Frappucino with a couple of pumps of hazelnut syrup, java chips, chocolate drizzle, and the whipped cream blended in the drink (there was something more, but I don’t remember lol).
The taste? A twix chocolate bar.
Verdict: Me Gusta.

T-Rex
As part of our prospects program training, we had an amazing race challenge. One of the tasks was to put together these puzzle models together and make a team cheer of the values that were learnt during the entire day. It was needless to say that our team won lol. But seriously, the value of teamwork was really eminent in the task, as well as the reason of actually being there and being part of the organization. A lot of realizations were made, while the best and worst in some people were seen too.
At the end of the day, it was the model T-Rex that was truly happy. haha

Frost
This weather is really starting to worry me. By this time of year, it should be nice and chilly. Cuddle weather lol. But right now it’s all over the place, raining, then sunny, then hot, then i have no idea. I could really use some nice cool weather right now, to suit the upcoming holiday season.
Climate change sucks.

I don’t know about you guys, but the N8 takes some pretty badass close up shots (minus the editing lol).

Day Dreaming
At Holly’s coffee, their ceiling has light orbs that are suspended. I enjoy studying there for when I have my tests or exams, and after a couple hours of head busting problem solving, I like to look up and just stare at them.
Only because they’re trippy as heck if you use your imagination.

Iced Hybrid Dirty Chai w/ Hazelnut
Chai Tea latte with a single shot, soy milk, and hazelnut syrup
A normal dirty chai is just a Chai Tea Latte with two shots of espresso, but since I’m on a relatively tight budget (yes I couldn’t afford the extra P30 for the second shot lol), I went for just one, adding hazelnut syrup and switching to soy milk. The taste was unique. When you take the first sip, it has a kind of spicy feel to it (almost like peppermint, but sweeter) while the single shot mixes in with it. What really hits is the really strong aftertaste, with the whole chai-spice aromas mixed and downed with the hazelnut flavour.
Verdict: Me gusta

Lia
Meet my new ukulele! I got it as a birthday gift from my brother and sister (yeah, a couple of weeks after my birthday lol). Now this one is a proper one, with proper uke strings so I’m really happy and psyched to learn how to play it properly, especially for my parents 25th wedding anniversary celebration to be held mid December.
I think I’ll call this uke, Lia.

Trusty
I’m always seen in school carrying these two things; my bilum and my lappy. I dunno, I give myself a hard time by lugging these things wherever I go (even during my commute to school) and in the entire 2+ years I’ve been here I’ve never had anything from my bilum stolen, let alone my lappy lol.
I can leave it in the middle of my classroom and nothing would be stolen.

Droplets
It’s already midway of the -ber months, and yet it’s still freakishly hot (either that or raining on a really sunny day). It sucks, because it’s during this time that I should be wearing my hoodies because the weather is supposed to be nice and chilly (hence the term -ber months….ber…burrr…as in burr because you’re cold….get it? Yeah).
Dumb climate change.

Tree Setting
The silhouette of a tree that you see when the sun sets under it can be a thing of mysterious beauty, or of mysterious horror.
All depending on the eyes of the beholder.

First Two
The BEP concert made me realize how much I missed the old sound of the Black Eyed Peas. I mean, don’t get me wrong. The music they have today is great for parties, but that’s it…they’re just great for parties. I miss the kind of music they had in their first two albums, songs like Don’t Lie, Where is the Love, Don’t Phunk with my Heart, heck even My Humps were great songs.
It’d be nice to hear an old school BEP track come their next album.

BEP
Black Eyed Peas concert! So I didn’t get the best position for the concert, but it was just enough for me to see their trippy azz light setting. I swear, I was a lot more hypnotized by the fast blinking and random panning lights. As for the concert, it was just so-so. Too much dead air between songs if you ask me.
But hey, they’re the Black Eyed Peas!

Road Hump
For some weird reason, the roadworks people in the village decided to make one side of the road humps flat and the other still, uh…humped.
Weird roadworks people are weird.

Sulu St.
Meet my street. Being a person who grew up in PNG and only visited the Philippines during the Christmas break, it’s pretty overwhelming remembering my house and this entire street build up to what it is today. Before, my house was just a low roofed, single story house, which was actually made up of two units (so the first was the living area with the kitchen while the second had the bedrooms). I remember running up and down this street, even riding my bike every now and then (and the cuts and bruises I had whenever I fell of my bike lol). Even if I visited my house only during the Christmas break, I can still remember the many things I did here.
I remember having a bunch of friends from this street…I wonder where they are.
